Ordering Ahead for Shabbat: How to Plan Your Friday Kosher Pickup in Boca Raton
ORDERING AHEAD FOR SHABBAT: HOW TO PLAN YOUR FRIDAY KOSHER PICKUP IN BOCA RATON
Friday afternoons in any kosher household have the same shape. The clock is moving faster than you are. The chicken still needs to come out of the oven. Someone’s running for challah. The candles need to be set. And somewhere in there, you’re supposed to also be calm and pulled together.
Krispy’s can take one or two things off your list. Here’s how to actually use us for Shabbat — what to order, when to order it, and how to time your Friday pickup so you’re not running.
WHY ORDER FROM KRISPY’S FOR SHABBAT?
A few honest reasons:
– You don’t have time to cook everything. Nobody does. Letting us handle a main or a side or appetizers means you have more space for the things you do want to make yourself.
– You want something different. Same chicken every Friday gets old. Schnitzel, smash burgers, or a real pastrami board on the table is a small upgrade that lands.
– Hosting more than usual. Family visiting, sheva brachos, kiddush in the house — sometimes you just need extra food and zero extra stress.
– You’d rather be ready earlier. Picking up at 12 or 1PM means you’re not still cooking at 3.
WHEN TO PLACE YOUR ORDER
Friday is busy for us. The earlier in the week you order, the better. Here’s what we recommend:
– For Friday pickup of a normal-sized order: call or order online by Thursday night
– For larger orders (10+ people): give us 48 hours minimum
– For full catering (shul kiddush, simcha, big Shabbat meal): call (561) 931-2958 directly — we’ll walk through what you need
Walk-ins work too if it’s just a sandwich or two. But for anything you’re feeding a table with, plan ahead.
WHAT TO ACTUALLY ORDER
A few ideas based on what works:
– Pastrami or corned beef platters. Slice it cold for an easy appetizer, or warm it for the meal.
– Schnitzel for the kids (and the adults). Easy, kid-friendly, holds up well.
– Side platters — slaw, potato salad, fries done right. The stuff you don’t want to make yourself.
– Smash burgers if it’s a casual Shabbat lunch.
– Chopped liver if you have an uncle who’ll fight for the last spoonful.
TIMING THE PICKUP
The reliable move is to pick up early afternoon Friday, before the rush. Once 2PM hits, everyone in Boca who’s keeping Shabbat is trying to get the last thing done at the same time. Our line gets long. Traffic gets worse. The roads near our location can back up.
Call us when you’re 10 minutes out. Your order will be ready, bagged, and you’re back in your car in 90 seconds.
A NOTE ON FRIDAY HOURS
We close earlier on Fridays to give our staff time to get home before Shabbat. Plan around that. Current Friday hours are on krispyskosher.com — always check before you head over.
CATERING FOR BIGGER OCCASIONS
If you’re hosting something bigger — a bar mitzvah kiddush, a sheva brachos, a Friday night for the extended family — we cater. Call us a few days out and we’ll build something around what you need.
